Why Only Events?

It may be based in Australia, but multi-beverage company Foster’s has offices around the world – including Auckland, New Zealand. When Christmas comes into view, the management team chooses to reward their staff in style, with an end-of-year function resonating with sophistication and elegance - but most of all, fun! Enter Only Events...

Meeting the challenge

We’ve been privileged to organise the Foster’s Christmas function for three years in a row.
In 2007 we transformed Ponsonby’s humble Hopetoun Alpha into a lush, cabaret-style venue featuring sweeping black linen, gorgeous candelabra, masses of candles and endless strings of fairy lights. Outrageously outrageous drag queens brought their own brand of decadent entertainment, while a late-night DJ soon had everyone on the dance floor.
A masquerade ball in 2008 took the event to a whole new level. Staged in the Auckland Museum’s magnificent Grand Foyer, it oozed opulence, with red and gold the decadent theme of the evening. Body-painted nymphs bearing champagne welcomed the guests, who later rated it the social event of the year.
In 2009 we took the Foster’s team home – to its own Matua vineyard in Waimauku. With the sun shining and temperatures party-perfect, staff and their families enjoyed a day of ‘Kiwiana’ – live music from New Zealand rock legend Graeme Brazier, fab food from the barbecue and traditional summer games like backyard cricket. A choice way to get ready for the Christmas break...
